How it works
Two iPhones, one account, about a minute. No router settings, no QR codes, no extra hardware.
Install on both phones
One phone stays in the nursery as the camera — an old iPhone you no longer carry is ideal. The other is the one you keep with you.
Sign in with the same account
Signing both phones into one Slumbi account is what pairs them. A device already signed in can hand the account to a phone next to it, without typing the password again.
Pick Baby and Parent
Tap Baby Unit on the nursery phone and Parent Unit on yours. Your phone finds the unit by itself and the picture comes up.
Never lose the feed
Most baby monitor apps stop working the moment the Wi-Fi does. Slumbi has three ways to reach the nursery and moves between them on its own, without you touching anything.

Private by design
A baby monitor points a camera at the most private room in the house. That deserves a straight answer about where the picture goes.
Video and audio are encrypted end-to-end between your two phones using WebRTC. On your home Wi-Fi the stream is a direct connection between the devices and never leaves the network at all. When you watch from outside the house, the packets may pass through a relay — a relay that cannot read them.
Slumbi has no cloud recording. There is no server that stores your video, because there is no server in the picture path at all. Our servers hold your account, pair your two devices, and help them find each other.

Can I really use an iPhone as a baby monitor?
Yes. Slumbi turns two iPhones into a matched pair: one becomes the camera in the nursery, the other becomes the screen you keep with you. You get live video, room sound, alerts and two-way talk — the things a dedicated monitor does — using hardware you already own.
Does Slumbi work without Wi-Fi?
Yes. If there is no Wi-Fi, or the router goes down mid-night, Slumbi falls back to a direct Bluetooth link between the two phones. The picture is smaller and the frame rate lower than over Wi-Fi, but the sound stays clear and your cry, noise and motion alerts keep working. The switch happens on its own.
Can I check on my baby when I'm not at home?
Yes, with Premium. Unlimited Range carries the encrypted stream over the internet, so you can watch from work, from a restaurant, or from the far end of the garden. Monitoring on your own Wi-Fi or over Bluetooth stays free.
Which iPhones does it work on?
Any iPhone running iOS 15 or later, which goes back to the iPhone 6s. Both phones need it, but they do not need to be the same model — an old phone as the nursery camera and your current one as the parent unit is the usual setup.
Does it detect crying?
Yes. Slumbi listens for a baby's cry specifically, not just for volume, and can send an alert the moment it hears one. It also watches for the room getting loud and for movement in the cot, and each alert can be turned on or off on its own.
Will I be woken if my phone is on silent?
Cry and noise alerts can be sent as critical alerts, which break through the silent switch and Focus modes. That is the whole point of a monitor, and it is the one notification you do not want iOS to hold back.
Can both parents watch at the same time?
Yes. Several parent phones signed in to the same account can watch one baby unit at once, each over whichever link it has — one on Wi-Fi at home, another over the internet from outside.
Is the video private?
Video and audio are encrypted end-to-end between your two phones, and nothing is recorded to any server of ours — there is no cloud storage of your nursery to be breached, subpoenaed or sold. On your home Wi-Fi the stream never leaves the network.
What happens if the connection drops?
Slumbi reconnects by itself and, if the link cannot be restored, it tells you rather than showing a frozen picture. A monitor that quietly stops watching is worse than no monitor, so a silent drop is treated as a failure worth waking you for.
